50 years

Haitian Emmanuel Baptist Church is a community church located in Miami, Florida. The church was planted in 1973 with members from among the first wave of Haitian refugees who settled in South Florida fifty years ago. God’s grace and faithfulness have been demonstrated through the leadership of our shepherds. Reverend Armand Ogero, the founder, led with excellent teaching and discipline, from 1973-1983. His successor, Reverend Wilner Maxy, led with great faith and a heart for the people, from 1983 until his retirement in December 2020. Reverend Jacques Moise Joseph, a man of prayer and humility, led the transition year in 2021. Our current shepherd, Reverend Dr Wadler Jules, a son of the church, a son of an immigrant, started his senior pastorate term on January 2022. Under his leadership, he aims to lead the church to “sending equipped and mature disciples to transform our world.”
